Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many people move to other countries for education, job, and work. However, Living in a country where people speak a foreign language can create social and practical problems. I partly agree with this statement because language barriers can make communication problem in daily life.
First of all, Language barriers can create serious social problems. People who cannot speak the local language and donot talk with friends and communication with local resident. As a result, they feel lonely and isolated. For example, international students move to the other country to study there but thay donnot communicate with their friends. This can effect their confidence level and they feel embrassed. Moreover misunderstanding can make a problem.
Secondly, Language barriers can create a problem in our daily life. People cannot speak the local language with their colleagues and supervisor. As a result, nobody agree to set on work. For example, international workers move to the other country but local language effect their work and create a misunderstanding with people. For instance, a foreign worker who annot explain their symptoms to a doctor may have difficulty receving the correct medical.
However, I believe these problems can be reduced by learning local language. People can attend language classes, use translation applications, and practice speaking with native speakers.
In my opinion, I largely agree that living in a country where foreign language is spoken can cause both social and practical problems. nevertheless, these difficulties are not impossible to overcome. With regular practice, patience and support for others and enjoy a better quality of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is present: you say you “partly agree” and later that you “largely agree,” and you address both social and practical difficulties. The examples of students feeling isolated and a worker struggling to explain symptoms to a doctor are relevant. However, the position shifts between partly and largely agreeing, so it is not fully clear how strongly you support the statement. Several points are also asserted rather than explained: for example, “nobody agree to set on work” does not clearly show what practical problem occurs. Develop each main idea with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and make your degree of agreement consistent throughout. The suggestion that language learning can reduce difficulties is useful, but it needs a more direct link to your overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on social and practical problems, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “However” help readers follow the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly where the work-related point moves from communication with colleagues to “nobody agree to set on work.” The examples also repeat the general idea of language barriers without always showing how they support the preceding claim. Some linking is mechanical, and the conclusion introduces a sentence fragment after “With regular practice.” Use clearer references between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “language barriers,” “lonely and isolated,” “misunderstanding,” and “translation applications.” These choices make the central meaning understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, such as “communication problem,” “local resident,” “set on work,” and “the correct medical.” Repetition of “language,” “problem,” and “people” also limits precision. Spelling and word-form errors, including “thay,” “donnot,” “effect” where a verb meaning influence is intended, and “receving,” further reduce control. Build a wider set of natural collocations for social isolation, workplace communication, and accessing healthcare, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “As a result, they feel lonely and isolated” and a relative clause in “a foreign worker who annot explain their symptoms to a doctor.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to understand. Examples include “People who cannot speak the local language and donot talk with friends,” which lacks a clear main clause, and “With regular practice, patience and support for others and enjoy a better quality of life,” which is a sentence fragment. There are also agreement and article problems, as in “nobody agree” and “where foreign language is spoken.” Practise completing clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
