Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, migration of people from one country to another country is more common and if we migrate to other country the first barrier will be foreign language. So, a country in you living you have to speak a foreign language without language can effect sereval social problems and also face practical problems. I agree to some extent if you live in foreign country you have need to speak that country foreign language otherwise you face social problems and practical.
Firstly, when person move to foreign country the first barrier will be foreign language in which you does not communicate with local people. E.g., when i was go to my foreign trip to germany. when I land on germany airport the first problem I face was communication to local people to buy german SIM to turn on my mobile data to communicate with my parents and friends. Than TO solve that problem I use Google Translator to Communicate with them. So, that was my first social and practical problem I face related to foreign language.
Secondly, in my opinion, if any person move to foreign country for study or job. Then, after some time person learn that foreign language to communicate with local person that are natural process when people live in any environment he adopt that slowly. So, I think person should face social problems and as well as practical problems for 1 to 2 years then he speak a foreign language enough to communicate. So, that's problems only for begineers and who come to that country only for spend vaccations.
In conclusion, people have need to speak a foreign language to addresse social problems and practical problems. That are also common and demading thing to speak the language of that country i which you are living.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a recognisable position—“I agree to some extent”—and address both social and practical difficulties. The Germany airport example is relevant and helps illustrate the communication barrier, while the second body paragraph introduces the idea that newcomers gradually learn the language. However, the discussion remains limited and does not fully explain the social consequences, such as difficulty forming friendships or participating in community life. The practical example is also narrow, and the claim that problems last “1 to 2 years” is asserted rather than supported. Develop each reason with clearer explanation and examples, and make your degree of agreement more precise in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The ideas are generally grouped by topic, and the personal example gives the first body paragraph a clear focus. However, progression is uneven: the second paragraph shifts from problems caused by language to the process of learning it, without clearly connecting this to the extent of your agreement. Linking phrases such as “So” and “Then” are repeated or used mechanically, and some references—such as “that are also common”—are unclear. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect explanations and examples more explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “communicate,” “social problems,” and “practical problems,” and the Germany example includes specific terms such as “SIM” and “Google Translator.” However, the range is limited, with key phrases repeated frequently, and several word choices or collocations make the meaning awkward: “the first barrier,” “buy German SIM,” and “addresse social problems.” Spelling errors such as “begineers,” “vaccations,” and “demading” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of expressions for social integration and everyday tasks, and check spelling and natural word combinations. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish social isolation from practical communication difficulties.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea in “if any person move to foreign country for study or job.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “when I was go” should use a correct past-tense form, while “you does not communicate” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The opening also contains an incomplete or confusing construction: “a country in you living.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your point. Practise accurate past-tense narration and basic clause patterns first, then build longer sentences with clear subjects and verbs.
