Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a general position: language difficulties may be serious at first but become easier with time. However, the response focuses mainly on how people learn a language, rather than explaining the social and practical problems named in the question. The examples about working abroad and reading books do not clearly show specific consequences, such as isolation, difficulty accessing services, or workplace misunderstandings. Your view is also not fully consistent: you acknowledge initial problems but do not clearly state how far you agree that they can be serious. The response is 23 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop relevant reasons and examples. Address both types of problems directly and explain your degree of agreement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an introduction followed by two body paragraphs, and the reader can identify a broad progression from language learning to the difficulties faced by newcomers. However, there is no clear concluding paragraph, and the overall argument does not develop in a consistent sequence. Linking words such as “firstly,” “secondly,” and “moreover” are used, but some connections are unclear or mechanical; for example, the sentence beginning “For instance, a person goes in abroad for work” does not clearly connect its example to the preceding point. Several ideas are placed together without explaining their relationship. Use one paragraph for social problems and another for practical problems, with clear topic sentences and a conclusion that restates your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communicate,” “local individuals,” “colleagues,” and “native language.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make the message harder to follow, such as “socal,” “opperational diffulties,” and “industriousness” where the intended meaning is unclear. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “goes in abroad” and “making better relations.” Repetition of “language,” “learn,” and “problems” further restricts precision. Build a more accurate set of expressions for the task, such as “social isolation,” “access public services,” and “workplace communication,” and check spelling and collocations carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “after spending time … it can be easier to communicate” and a clause beginning “when an individual…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “every individual can learn any language … firstly” is not formed as a clear sentence, while “when a individual live” has errors in the article and subject–verb agreement. The final sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their verb forms and punctuation.
