Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear general position—“I agree”—and attempt to discuss both social and practical consequences, especially difficulty communicating and the cost of hiring translators. These points are relevant to the prompt. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the social problems are barely explained, and the practical discussion shifts to ministers and international meetings rather than developing everyday experiences of living in a foreign-language country. Several claims, such as people becoming unemployed or returning home, are difficult to follow and lack a clear explanation or example. To strengthen the response, explain specific effects on residents—for example, difficulty making friends, accessing services, or finding work—and support each with a clear, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion, so there is an attempt to organise the answer. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough for the reader to follow a clear progression. The first body paragraph moves from international languages to learning a language, employment, and returning home without showing how these points connect. The second paragraph similarly shifts from English proficiency to government meetings and translation costs. Repeated wording such as “many country” and “does not understand” also makes the development feel repetitive. Plan one main point per paragraph, explain it in a logical sequence, and use clear references to connect each example to the central argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary related to the topic, including “foreign languages,” “international language,” “translator,” and “government costs.” This shows some awareness of the subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors strain the reader’s understanding. Examples include “rythms,” “foriegn,” “myraid,” and “differnet”; phrases such as “keep going foreign” and “translate persons” are also unclear or unnatural. Try to learn accurate topic-specific collocations and use them consistently, such as “language barrier,” “communication difficulties,” and “professional interpreters.” Checking spelling and choosing precise words will make your ideas easier to understand and help avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

You attempt to form connected sentences and use basic linking expressions, but grammatical control is very limited. Errors are frequent and sometimes distort meaning, as in “many people are does not speak,” “many country are speak,” and “I am agree.” Subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction need particular attention. Some sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical relationships, making it difficult to identify who is doing what. Practise building accurate simple sentences first—for example, “Many people do not speak English” and “Some residents struggle to find work”—then join related ideas with a correctly formed clause. Greater accuracy in basic structures is needed before attempting longer sentences.
