Student answer (Band 5.5)
Living in a certain country as migrant , with no familiarity with local language can cause both social and practical problems. I partially agree that speeking foreign language in such a country would create lots of challenges for you as you're not a native speaker so fluency and understanding would cause problem for you.
On one side your social presence would decrease, as language barrier would hinder your communication with group . Furthermore, it will hender the practical progress of person as he will face difficulties in workspace. It is not going to be easier to spoke foreign language and make progress as lots of workspace owners prefer local native speakers.
However, this statement has certain limitations as well , like we can't put all the blame on foreign language for our social and practical problems . For instance there are lot of example like who succeed one prime example is mayor of newyork who was imigrant still he adopt to environment quickly.Despite arguing for shortcomings he made his skill strong and succeeded in foreign country.
In conclusion, i would say it is actually quiet challenging situation to spoke foreign language in any country as it could have social and practical shortcomings but we can't ompletely blame that for all the practical and social problems we experience in our life in certain foreign country. Hope is always key if you're hopefull of delivering in tough and difficult situations you could easily succeed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, qualified position by saying you “partially agree,” and you address both social and practical consequences. The points about communication with groups and difficulties in the workplace are relevant, while the counterpoint that language should not be blamed for every difficulty shows some balance. However, these ideas remain general and are not sufficiently explained or supported with a clear, relevant example. The reference to a “mayor of newyork” is difficult to assess because no person or specific evidence is identified. The response also falls short of the required 250 words. To strengthen the response, explain how language barriers affect social participation and employment, and develop a precise example that supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting problems, a counterargument, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several claims are placed together without explaining how one leads to the next, and the example in the counterargument is abrupt and unclear. Some connections are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “social and practical” in the opening and conclusion. Paragraphing is present, but the argument would be easier to follow if each paragraph developed one main point with supporting explanation and a clearly connected example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “language barrier,” “communication,” “native speakers,” and “succeeded,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “social presence” and “practical progress,” but these are not natural or precise in context. Several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “speeking,” “hender,” “imigrant,” and “ompletely,” and phrases such as “workspace owners” and “hopefull of delivering” make parts of the message harder to interpret. The vocabulary range is therefore limited and control is inconsistent. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; for example, use “participate socially” and “employment opportunities” to express your points more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession beginning “However” and a conditional structure with “if.” Nevertheless, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to process. Examples include “it is not going to be easier to spoke” and “he adopt to environment,” where verb forms are incorrect, as well as “communication with group,” which lacks an article or plural form. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially in the long sentence beginning “For instance there are lot of example.” These problems sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Practise accurate past-tense forms, articles, and plural nouns, and divide long sentences into shorter, complete units before attempting more complex structures.
