Student answer (Band 6.0)

In contemporary world, where language holds important postion in society, a majority of immigrants believes residing in nation where you have to communicate in foregin language poses a crucial social and pratical issues to individual. I completely agree with this notion because it effects routine life as well as can leads to social isolation if one cannot communicate in language of country of their migration.

The key reason for my agreement is effect it contributes to day to day life. If a person cannot initiate conversation in unfamiliar language, it affects practical life of individual. A good example for this is, when buying gloceries, if a person cannot speak with or understand the speaker, it can cause problems for both customer as well as shopkeeper. There is probility that customer may pay more for the item with lower price and for shopkeeper or chasier it may causes unnecessay delay in serving other people. Therefore, to avoid this consequences, learning second language holds a significant importance.

Additionally, not knowing other language can contributes to social isolation. Humans are social animals. It is very crucial for they to involve in community the live in inorder to survive and funcition effectively. For instance, during social gathering or community meeting held in neighabourhood it important to have conversation wit people residing there. Knowing language boosts confidence to communicate your liking and disliking or area that needs improvement. Being able to speak language other than native comes with various advantages with can also help in personal and professional growth of individual.

In conclusion, living in country other than native country can effects cause social isolation as well as hinders daily activities. Hence, learning auxiliary language has significant benefits and can resolve both social and pratical issues to a greater extent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that relying on a foreign language can create practical difficulties and social isolation. Both parts of the prompt are addressed, and the grocery-shopping example gives a relevant illustration of how communication problems can affect everyday transactions. The paragraph on community gatherings also explains why language matters for participation. This meets the task well, with some of the development expected at a stronger level already present. However, the practical example is more fully explained than the social argument, which remains fairly general; the claim that language is crucial “to survive” is not supported with a specific consequence. Develop that point with a concrete example, such as difficulty forming friendships or accessing local services, and clarify how these problems arise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present practical and social reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “The key reason,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. This is a logical structure with ideas generally connected to the central claim. Some links are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “Therefore, to avoid this consequences” does not clearly connect the shopping example to the broad recommendation to learn another language, and the final sentence of the social paragraph shifts to personal and professional growth without explaining the link. Use clearer referencing and add a sentence that explicitly connects each example to the problem being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “social isolation,” “community meeting,” “significant importance,” and “personal and professional growth.” These choices show an effort to discuss both practical and social consequences rather than relying only on basic terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “postion,” “foregin,” “gloceries,” and “probility” are examples. There are also unnatural combinations, such as “communicate your liking and disliking” and “auxiliary language.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, “express your preferences” is more idiomatic than “communicate your liking and disliking,” while “additional language” is more suitable than “auxiliary language” in this context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If a person cannot initiate conversation…” and a subordinate clause beginning “when buying groceries.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main argument is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect clarity. Examples include “a majority of immigrants believes,” “it effects routine life,” “can leads,” and “it may causes.” The sentence “It is very crucial for they to involve in community the live in” also contains several grammatical problems that obscure the intended meaning. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and build complex sentences around one clear main clause before adding subordinate information.
