Student answer (Band 5.0)

Language is something that we use to communicate with each other. Language may be your native language or may be not your own language.Native language is wellknown in your area while foreign language is not that common.

Yes,I am agree with the statement given that speaking foreign language in particular area can cause serious social problems. It is because we are not much familiar to that foreign language and we are not used to that language.Every Area has its own particular language .When we are at such place where people are not able to understand our native languges. So thats why we have to speak in the foreign language but we are not such able to deliver our thoughts in such fluent way.It may happens that people missunderstood us and it ends up quarelling.

Speaking foreign languages may cause difficulty in expresing our feelings about particular things. It really cause a great difficulty in delivering your thoughts to others.Oftenly,it happens that we dont have such fluency in speaking that foreign language as those people of that country. So we feel hesitation in speaking in that foreign language while speaaking to that country people.

So in the light of above mentioned fact i agree with the statment that living i a country where we have to speak a foreign language can cause social problem,as well as practical problrms.we are also not able to communicate with people professionally. So in the professional place we are not such able to communicate actively with our collegues or boss.So the only solution is that we must try to learn profeciently that particular language and do parctice more

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a clear position, stating, “I agree with the statement,” and give relevant reasons: limited fluency may lead to misunderstandings or hesitation, and communication at work can be difficult. These points address both social and practical problems. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The example of a misunderstanding ending in “quarelling” is brief and hypothetical, while the professional point is introduced near the end without a specific explanation or example. The opening defines native and foreign languages rather than directly setting up your argument, and the conclusion mainly repeats your view and offers a general solution. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each problem and support them with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, discussion of social difficulties, a further point about expressing feelings, and a concluding paragraph. This gives the reader a basic sense of how your answer is organised. However, progression between ideas is limited, and several points repeat the same claim about difficulty communicating. Connectors such as “It is because,” “So thats why,” and “So in the light of above mentioned fact” are used mechanically or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph also combines the conclusion, a new workplace point, and a recommendation. Group related ideas more clearly, use pronouns and linking phrases precisely, and make each paragraph develop one main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “native language,” “foreign language,” “fluency,” “feelings,” and “professionally,” so the main message is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “language,” “difficulty,” and “communicate.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “missunderstood,” “Oftenly,” “profeciently,” and “deliver our thoughts,” which make the writing less natural and sometimes slow the reader. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions for misunderstanding, social isolation, and workplace communication would help you explain your ideas with greater clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason clause beginning “It is because” and a sentence explaining what may happen when people misunderstand you. However, the range is limited, and attempts to build longer sentences often contain errors that make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Language may be your native language or may be not your own language” has faulty structure, while “It may happens” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “Every Area has its own particular language .When…” and “I am agree.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and joining clauses with clear punctuation before adding more complex structures.
