Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that speaking foreign language in a country where people live can cause serious social and pracical problems. I largely agree with this view because speaking another language can cause communication problems and can cause social discrimination among people.
On the one hand, some people might come from abroad to settle somewhere new. They only speak foreign language or their own native language in their daily lives. This can lead to several problems such as communicating with local residents and working in offices. Some people even make fun of such individuals and discourage them from doing their routine tasks. They may also get no value in the society and community because people donot understand them and there is a communication gap among them. For instance, if any foreigner wants to work in a social community, they may not get an opportunity due to their different language. Therefore, speaking foreign language should be complemented with the country's original language, rather than completely speaking in another language.
Furthermore, people who want to work in different job sectors abroad may also face practical problems such as living in Italy may require to speak Italian language everywhere from communication to education and in the workforce. These individuals may have to struggle a lot to become compatible in that surrounding. Furthermore, people may struggle to communicate with the locals of that country and may find it difficult to understand their opinions. This leads to social incompatibilty and discrimination among different members of the society. Therefore, I believe it is important to learn a specific language according to its requirement because it may help people tackle problems more easily.
In conclusion, I largely agree that speaking another language might discourage people from communication, build differences among societies and people may also struggle in their workplaces and find it difficult to adjust themselves among them. Therefore, learning should not be specified and learning new language according to the need is essential.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you largely agree that using a foreign language can create social and practical difficulties. You address both areas, discussing communication, discrimination, employment and adjustment, and the Italy example helps illustrate the practical demands of learning a local language. However, some points are not fully explained or are difficult to follow. For example, the claim that people “may get no value in the society” needs clarification, and the work-related example does not show precisely how language barriers prevent someone from getting an opportunity. The conclusion also introduces the unclear idea that “learning should not be specified.” Develop each main point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and make the final position more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate social concerns from practical ones, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the first body paragraph moves from settling abroad to workplace communication, mockery, social value and employment without clearly linking each point. “Furthermore” is also repeated, and some references, such as “among them” in the conclusion, do not clearly identify who is meant. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each example directly to the claim it supports. Clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing would make the overall progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “communication gap,” “social discrimination,” “workforce” and “compatible.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both social and practical consequences. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “get no value in the society,” “social incompatibilty,” and “learning should not be specified” do not express your intended meaning clearly. There are also spelling errors, including “pracical,” “donot” and “incompatibilty.” Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe people as being “excluded from society” rather than receiving “no value,” and explain that learning a language should be “based on local needs” rather than “not specified.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “who” and “if,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless affect accuracy. Articles are missing in “speaking foreign language” and “learn a specific language”; the latter also needs a clearer grammatical construction in context. The sentence beginning “such as living in Italy may require to speak” has an awkward structure, and “may require speaking Italian” would be more accurate. In “people may struggle … and may find it difficult,” the structure is understandable, but the conclusion’s “people may also struggle … and find it difficult to adjust themselves among them” has unclear agreement and reference. Review articles, verb patterns after “require,” and sentence construction when combining examples with general claims.
