Student answer (Band 5.5)
The question is staying in another country where you have to speak their native language cause a big problem in both social and practical affairs . I frimily agree with this point of view .In this essay we will exmine the main problems . .
I frimily agree with this statment living in a country where you have to speak foreign language cause a big social problem because you have to catch up with other unfimilar people for various purposes. For instance if you want to talk with your neighbour who is a native citizen there and can not understand your language same you have not idea about his language it is very difficult for you to hang up with others . Due to lack of communication you may suffer with lonilness because there is nobody with him you can talk freely .
Other problem is practical problem where you are working or study there you also intract with many people and it is neccessary for you to talk with them to explain your ideas but if you have not any idea how to speak with them it cause a big problem in your practical life .For example if you are a student and teacher ask you to explain any topic infront of whole class but you have not any idea how to explain your ideas in their language it may be very disgusting for you and feel insult .
In conclusion , I would say we have to gain knowlege og other languages espeically english beacuse it is international language and used in almost every country . By learning new languages we gain knowledge and feel confident in other countries if we need to talk with othher or explain you ideas it is we helpfull .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I firmly agree,” and you address both social and practical problems. The examples about difficulty speaking with a neighbour and explaining ideas in class are relevant and help illustrate your view. This fits the descriptor because the task is covered, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. For instance, the social paragraph links communication difficulties to loneliness, while the practical paragraph mainly describes one classroom situation; explaining broader effects on work, study, or everyday tasks would strengthen it. The conclusion shifts to the benefits of learning languages, which is relevant but does not clearly summarise the problems or restate how strongly you agree. Develop each main point and connect the conclusion more directly to your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for social and practical problems, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument understandable. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. Phrases such as “Other problem” and “For example” signal relationships, but the links between some sentences are awkward, particularly “Due to lack of communication you may suffer with loneliness because there is nobody with him you can talk freely.” Pronouns such as “him” and “you” also make the reference difficult to follow. The conclusion introduces language learning without clearly tying it back to the preceding points. Use clearer transitions and consistent references, and make each paragraph progress from its main idea to explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communication,” “loneliness,” “practical life,” and “confident,” so the reader can identify your intended ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make expression imprecise. Examples include “hang up with others” for socialising, “suffer with loneliness,” and “feel insult” for feeling embarrassed or humiliated. Spelling errors such as “frimily,” “unfimilar,” and “neccessary” also reduce accuracy. To improve, build a bank of natural phrases for social interaction and practical difficulties, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain your examples without relying on repeated general terms such as “problem” and “idea.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional examples beginning “if you want to talk with your neighbour” and “if you are a student.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, there are some recurring errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “living in a country … cause a big social problem” needs subject–verb agreement, while “it cause a big problem” also requires a corrected verb form. The opening sentence is a fragment-like construction, and several sentences run together without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles and agreement when revising. Greater control would make your examples easier to follow.
