Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argue that living in foreign country have language barrier i do not agree with this view because you can speak English its not a big issue but sometimes have some social issue

the main reason for my position is that English is a International language and everyone know about it. in practical term if allow to people form Different Countries to communicate with each other for instance Pakistani Visit japan he can not use their Urdu language he use their for communication international language English Consequently a foreigner can communicate in English language easily

A further point is that students who want study in another country he must know about English to communicate with peoples. this matter because if students do not about understanding English language for this reason may create a serious social problem in communication or why they send their messages to another person a good illustrate is that if basic English Language know locals it has a major advantage for students who came here for their studies. for example a student goes on study visa in a European country and they can speak English Language Fluently or basic they can not face social problem because they can easily send their message with their friends or their college teachers or local individual.

In Conclusion i strongly agree with that people are living in foreign country he must understanding English language mainly individuals go on study visa and students go on study visa its to much iportant for him

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a position—“I do not agree”—and offer examples involving a Pakistani visitor in Japan and students studying abroad. These are relevant to language-related communication, but the response only partially addresses the question. The prompt asks whether living where a foreign language is spoken can cause serious social as well as practical problems; your discussion focuses mainly on English as a solution and does not explain practical difficulties in detail. The conclusion also shifts to “I strongly agree,” contradicting your opening position, so your overall view is unclear. Develop both sides of the issue and explain whether English is realistically available to everyone. A consistent position and fuller explanation of the examples would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “the main reason” and “A further point,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow, and several ideas are repeated rather than developed—for example, the second body paragraph repeatedly refers to students’ ability to communicate in English. Linking expressions such as “for instance,” “Consequently,” and “In Conclusion” are attempted, but some connections between sentences are unclear, and the final conclusion conflicts with the introduction. Organise each paragraph around one clear point, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence. Use pronouns and transitions only where their references and relationships are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small set of relevant terms, including “language barrier,” “communicate,” “social problem,” and “study visa,” which helps convey the general topic. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “English,” “students,” and “social problem.” Some word choices and combinations are unclear or unnatural, such as “send their messages to another person,” “a good illustrate,” and “local individual.” Spelling and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “iportant,” “Different,” and “Language.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Build a broader set of accurate phrases for social interaction and practical challenges, and check spelling and collocations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional example beginning “if students do not…” and a reason clause introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often difficult to follow because of frequent errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles. Examples include “It is often argue,” “living in foreign country have,” and “everyone know.” Several sentences also run together without clear punctuation, especially in the opening and the final paragraph, which obscures how ideas relate. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and articles. Then use full stops to separate ideas before attempting longer, more complex sentence patterns.
