Student answer (Band 5.5)

Living in a country wheras you have to speak a foregin lanagauge they can produce serious problem and also make a cause of practical problems. I'm agree with this view point , if you don't know about a country lanagauge and culture so its hard for you to communicate esaily.

If you have a dream and you want to study in a foregin country so first you have to reserachbout it beacuse if dont know about that country culture and other types of activity so canno't spend time there easily. For exmaple my friend Naveed, they have a dream to study in china and they work hard to obttain good marks in Fs.c and they got it but when they go china and a few days later they invited to a party when they reach in party and he saw chinese people dancing and drining they cofuse there beacuse they don;t know about his culture then they came out from there and go back to hostial room.

Another big problem was practical problem beacuse if you visit a foregin country for a tour and you dont know how to communitate there and how's people talk there then you lost there. For example, Personally, I'm visited london yesterday and when reached there, I lost my suitcase and its very difficult for me how's finded my bag then, I am compalined there lost and found counter but when i am started to talikng they looks me like confuse and they do not understand my problem then suddenly my friend asad came up and help me to find my bag.

In Counclusion, if we want to study in a foregin country and also want a successful future, first we want to reserach about it and also know his communication skills, How they talk and how's they living there and what activity they perfrom its a very good thing and also we learn about new cultures and other issues

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that speaking an unfamiliar language can create social and practical difficulties. You address both aspects through the China party anecdote, where unfamiliar customs cause discomfort, and the London lost-suitcase example, where communication is difficult. These examples make the response relevant, and the conclusion also recognises that learning about a country can help. However, the social problem is mainly illustrated as confusion at one party, rather than explaining broader effects such as isolation or difficulty forming relationships. The practical example is also not fully clear about how language caused the suitcase problem. Develop each point with a clearer explanation of its consequences and connect the examples more directly to your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for social and practical problems, and a conclusion. The examples are placed alongside the points they are intended to support, helping the reader follow the main direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track, particularly in the long party and lost-suitcase accounts, where several events are joined together without clear sentence boundaries. Linking phrases such as “Another big problem” are understandable but somewhat mechanical, and references such as “they” and “there” do not always make clear who or what is meant. Use shorter, clearly punctuated sentences, and make the relationship between each claim, explanation and example explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communicate,” “culture,” “practical problems,” and “successful future,” and the examples show an attempt to describe specific situations. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent, as in “foregin,” “lanagauge,” “communitate,” and “confuse.” Several expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “make a cause of practical problems” and “know his communication skills.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand and limit the range and precision of your vocabulary. Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “cause practical difficulties” and “learn how people communicate.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if you don’t know about a country…” and clauses introduced by “when.” This gives the response some variety, and the main ideas can generally be understood. However, some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and punctuation make parts difficult to follow. For example, “I'm visited london yesterday” has an incorrect tense, while “they have a dream … and they work hard … and they got it” shifts between tenses. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise forming complete sentences, keeping past-tense narratives consistent, and separating independent clauses with full stops rather than joining many ideas together.
