Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern world, people are moving from one country to another for various purposes like for studying, working or spending vacation. So, using foreign language in the foreign country can be a problem, if we do not uderstand or speak in a proper way. For this reason, I agree with the statement that it can lead to social problems along with practical problems.
There are lots of problems if we can not use foreign language while living in that country. Without knowing that language we will not be able to work or study properly and it will cause a social issue. Moreover, it will be difficult for us to communicate with our neighbours and as a result, they might not invite us in any type of social gathering like marriage ceremony, birthday party and new year party. In addition, it will create a social distance among us which can cause depression, because there will be no none with whom we can share our feelings. Furthermore, we will feel isolated.
The language barrier not only creates social problems but also practical problems. In terms of practical issue, with less knowledge in the foreign language will lead us to misunderstanding among our foreing friends because we will not be able to express our feelings properly. Therefore without a good command over that language we can not bargain with the local shopkeepers. So, there are high chances to be fooled or cheated by them.
However, using translator such as Google translator or other this kind of app can reduce the communication gap to some extent. But it is not a permanent solution. It can work as a temporay remedy. Therefore, we can also hire professional human translator or AI based tools or robot but they are very costly.
In conclusion, opinions may vary, in my perspective, living in a country where we need to use foreign language for commucation or work purpose can be a serious problem, if we are not master at that.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that living where a foreign language is needed can create both social and practical problems. You address both parts with relevant examples, including difficulty joining neighbours’ gatherings, feeling isolated, and being cheated when shopping. This meets the task well. Some points, however, are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between language difficulty and not being invited to social events could be developed by showing how limited conversation affects relationships. The paragraph on translators introduces a possible solution, but its relevance to the extent of your agreement is not fully connected to your argument. More explanation and a clearer weighing of this counterpoint would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, discussion of social effects, practical effects, a paragraph on translation tools, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use a range of linking expressions, such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” “Furthermore,” and “However.” At times, though, these transitions feel mechanical, and several ideas are added in a list rather than developed in a clear sequence. The social-problem paragraph, for instance, moves from work and study to neighbours, depression, and isolation without showing the links between each point. Some references are also unclear, as in “they are very costly,” where the reader must infer what “they” refers to. Use fewer connectors and make relationships between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “language barrier,” “communication gap,” “isolated,” and “professional human translator.” These choices help convey your main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, the range and control are uneven, with repeated general terms such as “problem” and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions. For example, “spending vacation,” “social distance among us,” and “master at that” do not sound natural in this context; “foreign friends” is also imprecise when you mean local people. Spelling errors such as “uderstand,” “foreing,” “temporay,” and “commucation” further reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural collocations for migration, communication, and social integration, and proofread carefully for spelling and word form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses (“if we do not…”) and cause-and-effect structures (“which can cause depression”). This gives the response some variety, and the main message remains understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “with less knowledge in the foreign language will lead us” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “there will be no none” contains an incorrect construction. There are also recurring issues with articles, agreement, and sentence formation, as in “using foreign language” and “it will cause a social issue.” Aim to make each sentence’s subject and verb clear, check article use, and revise complex sentences to ensure that clauses are correctly connected.
