Student answer (Band 5.0)

IT WAS OFTEN SAID THAT MOVING IN SUCH COUNTRY WHERE YOU HAVE TO SPEAK FOREIGN LANGUAGE MAY CAUSE THE DIFFERENT SERIOUS PROBLEM LIKE SOCIAL AND PRACRICAL PROBLEM. I COMPLETELY AGGRE WITH THIS STATEMENT BEACUSE CAN FACE TOTALLY NEW CULTURE AND NEW ENVIRONMENT WHERE THER WILL BE NO ANY KNOW PERSON TO HELP HIM/HER IN THE NEED AND ANOTHER REASON IS THERE WILL BE HARD FOR INDIVIDUAL TO ESTABLISH AND CONNECT WITH THE CITIZEN.

FIRSTLY, WHILING MOVING TO THE NEW NATION WHERE YOU ARE UNKNOWN ABOUT THERE LIFESTYLE AND CULTURE IN THE SITUATION A PERSON WITHOUT THE FOREIGN LANGAUAGE IS LIKA A HAND WITH OUT FINGER. SO THEY CAN BE COMPLETELY BLIND AT THIS CASE AND HARD TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES IN THE IN HARSE CONDITION AND THERE CAN BE A MISLEADING.HOWEVER, BY NOT KNOWING THE LANGUAGE WE BECAME BACKWARDED FROM THE COUNRIE'S

CULTURE AND LIFESTYLE THEY LIFE.

SECONDLY, COMMUNCICATION IS ONE OF THE KEY MEDIUM THROUGH WHICH WE CAN CONNENCT WITH THE NEW PEOPLE AND ESTABLISH OURSELVES IN THOSE COUNTRY BUT BY LACKING IN LANGUAGE WE MAKE LIMIT IN THIS SO WE WILL NOT PROPEREY CONNECT IN THAT SOCITY SO FAR. FOR EXAMPLE; WE NEED A FRIEND WHOEM WE CAN CONNECTED TO SHARE THE IDEA AND THOUGHTS BUT WITH OUT LANGUAGE IT WILL BE JUST IN ASUMPTION.THEREFORE,WITHOUT LANGAUGE THEREBE MANY ISSUE RELATED TO THE SOCIL AND MENTAL.

IN CONCLUSION, THERE IS A HIGHLY CHANCE OF BEING AFFECTED BY THE SOCIAL AND PRACTICL ISSUE TO MOVE T0 COUNTRY WHERE YOU DO NOT KONW THER LANGUAGE THERE WILL BE HARD TO SOCIALIZE YOURSELVES WITH THE COMMUNITY AND ESTABLISH THERE. THEN THIS WILL DEFINATELY RESULTS IN THE HEALTH AND PRACTICAL ISSUE.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you completely agree that living where a foreign language is needed can create social and practical difficulties. You give relevant reasons, including difficulty expressing oneself and forming connections, and the example of needing a friend to share ideas supports the social point. However, the practical problems are not explained with concrete situations, and the discussion of unfamiliar culture and lifestyle remains broad. The conclusion repeats the position but introduces health effects without explaining how these follow from the points above. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a specific example, such as difficulty accessing services or handling everyday tasks, and make the link between language barriers and each consequence explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through your argument, and the main ideas generally appear in a sensible order. However, connections within sentences are sometimes unclear, as in “However, by not knowing the language we became backwarded from the countries culture,” and some transitions do not show the relationship between ideas precisely. The repeated use of “so” and “therefore” can also make cohesion feel mechanical. Pronouns such as “they” and “this” do not always have clear references. Use shorter, clearly linked sentences and refer directly to the person or problem being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “establish,” “connect,” “culture,” and “lifestyle,” and phrases such as “social and mental” show an effort to express consequences beyond practical communication. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts difficult to understand, including “backwarded,” “properey,” “communcication,” and “practicl.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “make limit in this” and “highly chance.” These issues fit a basic, repetitive vocabulary range in which errors can strain the reader. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “face barriers to integration” rather than “make limit in this.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You try to use both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “I completely agree with this statement because…” and the sentence beginning “Communication is one of the key medium…”. This shows an attempt to connect ideas in more complex structures. However, these longer sentences are often faulty, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement frequently make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “there will be no any know person,” “we became,” and “there is a highly chance.” Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause at a time.
