Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position that language barriers can create both social and practical problems, and you give relevant reasons: difficulty connecting with people, asking for everyday items, and finding or managing work. The example about your cousin in Germany also supports your view and shows that learning the language can improve confidence. However, several points are asserted rather than explained, and the practical-problem discussion is difficult to follow. The response contains 240 words, so it is 10 words below the required minimum; the 9 words copied from the prompt are not included in that count. Develop the example and explain more precisely how language difficulties affect work and daily tasks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable progression: it introduces the problem, discusses communication and work, gives an example, and ends with advice. The cousin’s experience is a useful supporting detail. However, the ideas are mostly presented in one continuous block, so paragraphing does not clearly separate the main points. Connections between ideas can also be unclear: the sentence beginning “This will not only cause social problem” moves quickly from confidence to practical life and employment without showing the links. Repeated use of “and” and “if” makes the flow feel mechanical. Use separate paragraphs for social effects, practical effects, and the example, and add clearer transitions that show cause and result.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “confidence,” “lonely,” “communicate,” “shopkeepers,” and “job.” The example also gives you a chance to use relevant language about studying and learning German. However, the range is limited and several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, such as “shake your mindset,” “help your expenses,” and “troubles your works.” Repetition of “language,” “problem,” and “happy life” also limits flexibility. Spelling errors such as “aboroad” and “tehre” are noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated words; this will make your meaning easier to understand and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example by using “If you are not able to speak…” and “This will not only… but also…”. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors that make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “it will definitely cause your confidence,” “you feel lonely and starts regret,” and “where you speaks.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses. Check that subjects and verbs agree and that each sentence has a complete, clear structure.
