Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a position that language difficulties can create social problems, and you include relevant points about communication, study, work and daily life. However, the response only partially addresses the question: much of the body explains the benefits of learning a language rather than showing how not speaking the local language causes serious social and practical problems. The opening claim that it causes problems is not developed with specific consequences, such as isolation, difficulty accessing services or misunderstandings at work. The conclusion repeats that learning the language is important but does not clearly weigh the extent of your agreement. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement directly and develop two or three consequences with clear examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, body and conclusion, and phrases such as “To begin with,” “In addition” and “For instance” help signal examples and additions. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the body shifts from the benefits of language learning to university requirements and then to social-media influencers, without linking these points back to the problems in the prompt. Some connections are also difficult to follow, particularly “Which he can get a huge place on the community.” Paragraphing is limited, and the conclusion largely repeats the opening idea rather than drawing together the argument. Organise the body around distinct social and practical problems, and use each paragraph’s opening sentence to make its main point clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communication skills,” “foreign contacts,” “community” and “daily life.” These choices show an effort to discuss language, education and social interaction. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts of the message difficult to understand, such as “a vast of social problems,” “foeigns languages” and “roughly on foreigns countries.” Some expressions are also imprecise for the argument: “a huge place on the community” does not clearly convey the intended idea. Build a more accurate set of phrases for social isolation, access to services and workplace communication, and check spelling and collocations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures with examples and subordinate clauses, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. Subject–verb agreement is often inaccurate, as in “Every country have” and “speak a different language have many benefits.” Verb forms and sentence construction also cause problems in “people don't speaking local language” and “they must to have an certificate.” Articles, plurals and punctuation are inconsistent, and the fragment “Which he can get a huge place on the community” interrupts the meaning. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your point. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles and verb patterns.
