Student answer (Band 6.0)
Living in another country where there you have to communicate in a foreign language can have social as well as practical problems. I firmly agree with this because adaptation to an unknown language can be a tiring process and many people face discrimination in colleges or organizations.
The primary reason why staying in a country with a compulsion on foreign language can cause various problems is that adapting to that language can take up enormous amount of time and it becomes a tiring procedure. Some languages are hard to learn and requires lot of efforts to be comfortable in speaking and writing. For example, there are several languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Urdu and many more which have a large set of alphabets and difficult writing patterns compared to the simpler language such as English. Thus, adapting to a foreign language can be a tiring process, despite applying enough efforts to learn it.
The second drawbach of settling in a foreign-language speaking nation is that some organizations and universities have a compulsion on communicating in a particular language. In some universities, the professors only prefer teaching in their regional language, which is not understood by many due to its pace. Similarly, in some offices workers do not understand any language other than their regional language, which is foreign to others. For example, there are only few universities available in some countries where the subjects are taught in a general language such as English. This leads to indirect discrimination against the foreign immigrants of that country.
The advantage of speaking a foreign language in another country is that people who learn new languages can know more about that country's culture and history. Many historical monuments have engravings in their language, which people can understand better if they are good at reading it.
In conclusion, although living in a country with a foreign language can help people add a new language to their skills, it can take an exhausting procedure to get fluency and also face discrimination in companies they work or universities they attend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that living in a foreign-language environment can create both social and practical difficulties. You develop two relevant reasons—time and effort needed to learn a language, and barriers in universities and workplaces—and support them with examples. However, the practical consequences of limited language ability could be explained more directly, such as difficulties accessing services or completing everyday tasks. The paragraph about cultural benefits introduces a counterpoint, but it is brief and its relevance to your overall argument is not fully explored. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each problem in more depth and make the relationship between your examples and your position explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two main supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “The primary reason,” “The second drawback” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. Some connections, however, feel mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is occasionally repetitive: the first body paragraph states several times that learning the language is tiring. The shift to the advantage of learning a language is understandable, but the paragraph is short and could be linked more clearly to your position. Use referencing and transitions more naturally, and organise each body paragraph around one main claim followed by explanation and a focused example.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “adaptation,” “discrimination,” “regional language,” “immigrants” and “historical monuments.” These choices allow you to discuss both social and practical aspects of the topic. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, but some combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “a compulsion on foreign language,” “a tiring procedure” and “add a new language to their skills.” “Drawbach” is a spelling error, and “pace” does not clearly express the intended difficulty of understanding a professor. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your ideas, but more precise collocations would make the argument sound more natural. Prioritise accurate word partnerships and check spelling during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses such as “because adaptation to an unknown language can be a tiring process” and “which is not understood by many.” Most sentences communicate their meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “there you have to communicate” contains an unnecessary construction, while “Some languages are hard to learn and requires” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and countable forms also need attention in “take up enormous amount of time” and “requires lot of efforts.” The conclusion’s phrase “it can take an exhausting procedure to get fluency” is structurally unclear. Review agreement, articles and sentence construction, and proofread complex sentences to ensure their clauses connect correctly.
