Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both social and practical problems and state your position in the conclusion: “i can agree this statement.” The examples about needing help with work or assignments, shopping for groceries, and exploring a city are relevant to the question. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening presents the problems as serious, while the conclusion adds that they are temporary because people gradually learn the language. This qualification could be explained more clearly, including whether you agree completely or only to some extent. Several points are asserted rather than developed—for example, explain how language barriers affect relationships or access to services, and give a specific illustrative example. The response therefore covers the task, but its ideas remain limited and under-supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for social and practical difficulties, and a conclusion. “Firstly” and “However” signal the intended stages, and the examples generally follow the point they illustrate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear because several ideas are joined in long, repetitive sentences, such as the discussion of work, understanding people, and asking colleagues for help. Some linking words do not show the relationship accurately: “However” introduces another type of problem rather than a contrast. Referencing is also occasionally confusing, and the conclusion introduces the idea that difficulties are temporary without preparing for it earlier. Use clearer topic sentences, divide explanations into shorter units, and connect each example explicitly to its main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “social problems,” “practical life,” “foreign country,” and “understand the people.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “cannot,” “problems,” and “face challenges.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and can make the reader pause: “take grocery of your home,” “hometown choice,” and “explore the things” do not express the intended meanings clearly. There are also spelling errors such as “colleauge,” “thier,” “intresting,” and “concluson.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling; for instance, describe buying groceries, explaining food preferences, or exploring local attractions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional forms such as “If you need to go to visit the city…” and a concluding clause about learning the language over time. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “If you are not accurately speak their language” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “Living in a country … can cause … problems” is followed by an incomplete or awkwardly connected clause in the introduction. Subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries also need attention: “this can effect your practical life” and the run-on opening after “problems.” Practise building one complete main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses with accurate verb forms and punctuation.
