Student answer (Band 5.5)
I firmly agree with the statement that living in a different country where you are expected to speak the language and not knowing the languge well enough for basic communication can bring difficluties in your survival. I would partialy agree with the statement that it can cause serious social problems in 2026, however, yes it's one of the most prominant challenge for non natives, where no one speks your tongue.
The language has always been considered as one of significant component in order to be inclusive in different social culture. Although in 2026 you can esily find english spekers and it is one of the benefits that you can communicate with them and make your life easy, however, the chances incresases if they are student. for instance i had an opportunity to visit the france and luckily i was surounded by students, hence it ws easy for me to communicate neverthless my friends who were in countryside for them french was necessity although they knew french so it was easy for them to socialize with natives and experience their culture.
The languge indeed play significant role in day to day life on a foreign land and tackling your daily life situations if you are there for a longer period. it also affects your mental health as well afetr a point when you don't feel inclusive and not even able to solve your day today tasks without the help of the other hand. for me personally asking for wifi and communicating with my hostel staff even for a grocery shopping to talking to a delvery man was big task, even though i always had people to help out but i count this experience as one of challenging experience i had.
For this reasons i believe that the individual does not need to master a language instead having knowledge of basics can help in surviavl and can lead to good experience in theri journey. we often do get peopel to help us out from our difficult situations but we cannot be dependent for every single tasks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear overall: you agree that limited language ability creates practical difficulties and partly agree that it causes serious social problems. You address both aspects with relevant examples, including communicating with hostel staff and delivery workers, and contrasting your experience in France with that of friends in the countryside. These details make the response personal and relevant. However, the social-problem aspect is less fully developed than the practical one: you mention inclusion and mental health, but do not explain in much detail how language barriers can lead to isolation or lasting social difficulties. The conclusion also shifts towards advice about learning basic language without fully drawing together your argument. Develop this social dimension and connect the conclusion more directly to your stated position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the ideas they illustrate, so the reader can understand the main line of argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the second paragraph, where the points about English speakers, students and your friends in the countryside are joined in a long sentence. Linking expressions such as “although,” “however” and “hence” are sometimes combined or used in ways that make relationships unclear. Some references, including “the other hand,” are also difficult to interpret. Use shorter, more clearly organised sentences, and make each paragraph develop one main point with precise links between claims and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “inclusive,” “socialize with natives,” “mental health” and “daily life situations.” These choices help communicate both the social and practical effects of language barriers. However, the range is limited in places, and repeated general terms such as “easy,” “difficulties” and “significant” reduce precision. There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, for example “languge,” “prominant,” “surviavl” and “necessity” where “necessary” is intended. Some combinations are unnatural, such as “one of significant component” and “good experience in their journey.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn natural collocations for discussing communication, integration and everyday tasks.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex structures, including clauses introduced by “although” and “when,” and you express a clear overall meaning. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and verb forms occur throughout. For example, “The language … play significant role” needs subject–verb agreement and an article, while “the chances incresases” also has an agreement problem. The opening sentence is overloaded, and the sentence beginning “for instance” runs several ideas together. These issues sometimes make the reader work to identify how points relate. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check agreement, articles and punctuation when editing.
