Student answer (Band 5.5)

The charts gives information about proportion of households is possessed as compared to sublet in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.

The overview of whole chart is nine line of households in owned and nine lines of rented household and also explain the different ratio in different numbers of years.

As it is presented in the pie chart in 1918 household are owned is only 20 rate as compared 2011. In 2011 people are manufactured the possessed household. In 1918 as the peak of rented house mostly people live the rented house in this year ratio of rented house is 78 percent .As well compared of 2011 is less ratio of leased house the ratio of people is 35 percent. In the middle of year 1971 there is no difference of owned house and rented house because this year people are both lived in houses. So In my opinion there difference both in different years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear summary of the main trends. The description of the data is often inaccurate or confusing, such as the claim that there are 'nine lines' in the chart. The comparison between 1918 and 2011 is attempted, but the language used to describe the data is imprecise and sometimes nonsensical, such as 'people are manufactured the possessed household.' Key features, such as the steady rise in ownership and the corresponding decline in renting, are not clearly articulated. The response lacks a clear overview and fails to report the data accurately, which significantly hinders the reader's understanding of the provided chart.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into short paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas effectively. The transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt, and the concluding sentence is vague and does not summarize the data effectively. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. The overall structure is disjointed, and the lack of appropriate linking words makes the text feel repetitive and mechanical.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is very limited and often misused. There is a significant lack of appropriate terminology for describing data, such as 'rate' instead of 'percentage' or 'proportion.' The phrase 'manufactured the possessed household' is an example of poor word choice that obscures meaning. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express the trends in the chart accurately. The student relies on basic, repetitive language, and there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation that impede communication throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort the intended meaning. Sentence structures are simple and often incorrectly formed, such as 'The charts gives information' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'In 1918 household are owned is only 20 rate.' There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. The errors are pervasive and frequently cause difficulty for the reader in understanding the information being presented. The control of basic grammar is insufficient for a clear, accurate report.
