Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by describing the trends in owned and rented accommodation. However, the analysis is limited. You have listed data points chronologically but failed to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends, such as the long-term shift from renting to owning. The final paragraph is vague, stating that figures are 'almost same' without providing specific data or meaningful comparisons. To improve, you should group information logically (e.g., periods of growth vs. stability) and ensure the main features are clearly identified in an overview paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised chronologically, which provides a basic structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and repetitive, relying heavily on phrases like 'if we see' and 'the ratio of'. Paragraphing is insufficient; the response is essentially a list of sentences rather than a cohesive report. There is a lack of logical progression between ideas, and the transition between the data points feels disjointed. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'subsequently', 'in contrast', 'meanwhile') and ensure each paragraph has a clear thematic focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'ratio' and 'housing' throughout the text, which makes the writing monotonous. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'is rises' and 'is decrease', which are grammatically incorrect and hinder the flow. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a broader range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a sharp decline', and ensure you use the correct word forms (e.g., 'rose' instead of 'is rises').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement. Examples include 'the ratio... is rises', 'is decrease', and 'it is almost same'. These errors are persistent and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. The sentence structures are simple and lack variety; there is an over-reliance on basic 'subject + verb' patterns. To improve, focus on mastering the use of past tense verbs for historical data and practice forming complex sentences using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions.
