Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar charts illustrate a comparision between accomodations, those are rented and those who have their own property in the England and Wales over a period of a century almost, from 1918 to 2011.
The Percentage of households in personal accomdation has increased steadily over tis complete period ecept last year. Contrats by, there is a gradual decline in the percentage of housholds in borrowed accomodations, except last year.
In 1918 the percentage of items in own property was approximate 25% that rised gradually and peaked at almost 70% in 2001, and again decreased to 65% in 2011.
A complete opposite trend can be seen with the percentage of households in rented accomdation in England and Wales, that was approximately 75% in 1918 and gradually droped to 30% in 2001. Likewise personal ccomodation there was change in trend, so in 2011 this number climbed to 35%.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the chart, identifying the overall trends for both owned and rented accommodation. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the score. While the key data points are mentioned, the analysis is somewhat brief. The overview is present but could be more clearly integrated. Because the response falls short of the word count requirement, it cannot reach the higher bands, as the development of the information is limited by the length.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, overview, and body paragraphs focusing on the two categories. There is a clear progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'In 1918', 'A complete opposite trend'). The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved with more varied transition words to better link the comparisons between the two accommodation types.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'accomodation', 'comparision', 'rised', and 'droped'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. The range of vocabulary is limited to basic descriptive terms. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring correct spelling of key terms related to the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'those are rented and those who have their own property' (awkward phrasing), 'over tis complete period' (spelling/article error), and 'Contrats by' (incorrect usage). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent. The control over punctuation and sentence construction needs significant improvement to reach a higher band.
