The chart above illustrate data in Wales and England between 1918 and 2011, broken down by households in owned or households in rented.

from the chart above we can observe that households in owned accommodation has been significantly increasing over the years compared to the rented accommodations which seem to be falling.

the household in owned accommodation was around 75% in year 1918 and following years it kept rising and reached peak in year 2001 with almost 69%. Similarly in case of household with rented accommodations in year 1918 the data accounted for 75% and following years it starts to fall and reach it's lowest point in year 2001 which calculates to 30%. The data of the rented and owned accommodations reached the same point in year 1971 which sums up to 50%

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response provides a general overview and identifies key trends, such as the intersection point in 1971. However, there are significant factual inaccuracies regarding the data. You stated that owned accommodation was 75% in 1918 and reached a peak of 69% in 2001, which contradicts the visual evidence where ownership starts low and rises to nearly 70%. Similarly, you misread the starting point for rented accommodation. While you attempted to select and report main features, the misinterpretation of the data points significantly impacts the accuracy of the summary. To improve, ensure you carefully cross-reference the axes and data labels before writing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, the transition between sentences often relies on simple structures like 'Similarly' or 'In conclusion'. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the flow feel a bit disjointed. To reach a higher band, try to integrate more varied cohesive devices to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly, ensuring that the relationship between the data points is clearly signaled.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher score. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'the data accounted for' and 'reached the same point'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'households in owned accommodation', which would be more naturally expressed as 'owner-occupied households'. The range is sufficient to convey the main message, but there is little evidence of less common lexical items or sophisticated control. Expanding your vocabulary to include terms like 'fluctuated', 'surpassed', or 'proportion' would enhance your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The chart above illustrate'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'it's' instead of 'its'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb endings and possessive pronouns. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while ensuring they remain error-free will help you achieve a higher band score.
