Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the response. While you have identified some main features, the analysis is incomplete and contains factual inaccuracies regarding the data (e.g., stating owned accommodation was 78% in 1918, when the chart shows rented was the majority). The overview is also slightly inaccurate, as it mentions an upward trend until 2021, whereas the data ends in 2011. To improve, ensure you carefully read the data points and provide a more comprehensive summary that covers all key trends across the entire period.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is hindered by the lack of sufficient detail and some confusing phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In terms of' and 'On the other hand', but they are sometimes applied in a way that does not clearly link the ideas. The flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed, making the overall argument feel somewhat mechanical. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that contributes to the overall summary.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'comparation' instead of 'comparison', and 'respectevitrely' (spelling error). Phrases like 'in the range of assess' are unclear and do not convey the intended meaning effectively. To reach a higher band, you should work on using more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable', and ensure you proofread for basic spelling and word-form errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'accommodation household in owned' (incorrect word order), 'until reach the year' (missing subject/tense error), and 'the 50% of households' (unnecessary article). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure often feels repetitive. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement. Practicing the use of relative clauses and passive voice would help you incorporate more complex structures accurately.
