Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response attempts to summarize the main features, but the data interpretation is significantly flawed. You have confused the categories and years, such as stating that rented accommodation was at the bottom in 2018 (the chart ends in 2011) and misinterpreting the trends for owned versus rented housing. The overview is also weak, as it describes the graph's physical structure (X and Y axes) rather than summarizing the key trends. To improve, focus on identifying the major shifts, such as the crossover point in 1971 and the overall inverse relationship between the two categories, while ensuring data accuracy.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by inaccurate data reporting and confusing transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In contrast', they are often used to introduce contradictory or incorrect information. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is disrupted by the factual errors regarding the years and percentages. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that your linking words accurately reflect the relationship between the data points you are describing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'highest', 'bottom', and 'increase'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'significantly achieve the success' and 'uniform in percentage', which do not accurately describe statistical trends. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise academic vocabulary for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a sharp decline', and ensure these are used in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('graph consist', 'X axis consist'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often marred by errors, such as 'from it shows significantly downfall'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around parentheses and commas. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
