Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response provides a clear overview of the main trends, identifying the shift from rented to owned accommodation. You successfully highlighted the key crossover point in 1971. However, the report lacks precision in some data descriptions. For instance, stating that owned accommodation was 'almost bit higher than 20%' is vague. Additionally, the grouping of years (e.g., 'last three years') is slightly inaccurate as the data points are at specific intervals (1991, 2001, 2011). To improve, ensure you report specific figures more accurately and avoid imprecise phrasing like 'bit higher' or 'raised a bit'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is generally clear, moving from the initial state to the crossover and finally the end of the period. Cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'Moreover', and 'In addition to this' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Oppositely in the later stages'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different time periods, which helps the reader follow the narrative of the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main trends, using terms like 'proportion', 'accommodation', and 'crossover'. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation. Phrases like 'possessed residence' and 'leased accommodations' are not the most natural choices for this context; 'owner-occupied' and 'rented' are standard. There are also minor inaccuracies in phrasing, such as 'shared 50% each', which could be more precisely expressed as 'reached an equal share of 50%'. Expanding your range of academic collocations would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, particularly with verb tense and preposition usage (e.g., 'in the 1918', 'raised a bit in 1961,up to 40%'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage when describing historical data will help improve your accuracy.
