The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The given graphical representation depicts the percentage of property owned and rented for accommodation in England and Wales during the period of 93 years, commencing from 1918.
Overall, it can be observed that over the time span, the percentage of owned households has increased, whereas the percentage of rented accommodation has noticed gradual decline.
To begin with, the percentage of owned domestically establishment in 1918 was 24%. From then, it underwent a gradual increase. It reached its highest in 2001, accounting for 69%. Further, over the next decade it fell to approximately 65%.
On the other hand, in 1918, rented dwellings were at their peak, reaching 77%. Since then, a continuous decline has been observed. In 2001, it reached its lowest point before increasing in the next decade.
Additionally, in 1971, both rented and owned households for accommodation were noticed to be equal at 50%. It can also be observed that when owned accommodations were at their peak, rented dwellings accounted for their lowest
