The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart below illustrates the number of people living in an owned and a rental accomodation in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011.
Overall, individuals residing in rented property were of higher percentage throughout the period. While the proportion of individuals in rented accomodation faced a significant drop whereas, the percentage of owned property gradually increased.
In 1918, there was the highest percentage of people lived in rental and just a 20 percent of individuals in their owned property. Consequently, the percentages were exactly the same among both categrories in the years 1939 and 1953. In 1961 rented property owners decreased to under 60 percent and and the owned property face an increase of 40 percent.
1971 was the only year in which both the categories reached to 50 percent of population. Afterwards, the number of people lived in owned property faced a constant increase in percentages from 60% to 70% but in 2011 dropped again to 65%. However, opposite is the case with rented ones as they decreased constantly by 40% to 32% in 1991 and 2001. At last grown to 37% percent again.
