Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, coming in at only 93 words. While the student attempts to present an overview and mention some data points, the severe lack of length prevents a fully developed response. Furthermore, the data description is extremely confusing, imprecise, and difficult to follow, such as saying 'household in owned accomodation was common in 2001 and was a little less in 1991'. Because of the under-length and poor development of main features, it meets the criteria for Band 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response is written as a single, excessively long, and convoluted run-on sentence. There is no paragraphing used to separate the introduction from the overview or body details. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, relying on repetitive conjunctions like 'and then' and 'and was'. The overall flow is highly disjointed, making the text very difficult to read and follow. This aligns closely with Band 4.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

Vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. The student repeatedly uses simple words like 'common', 'less', and 'ratio'. There are also several spelling errors throughout the text, including 'bargraphs', 'householding', and multiple instances of 'accomondation' or 'accomadation'. The limited range and frequent spelling mistakes restrict the score to Band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting of a single massive compound-complex sentence strung together with numerous 'and' conjunctions. There is a complete lack of standard punctuation, such as periods to separate ideas. Grammatical control is poor, leading to major structural faults and awkward phrasing. These frequent errors and the lack of basic sentence boundaries place this response in Band 4.0.
