The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The bar chart illustrates the proportions of households in owned and rented accommondation in england and wales in the time period of 20 years.

Over all it is clear that, households in rented accommodation made up tha largest share in the start whereas huseholds in owned accommodation made up the smallest share from the starting year, However till the end time who has owned the places became the largest.

Looking at the details, in 1918 rented households made up the lardest share of 75% whereas owned place made up the smallest on the same year which was around 22%, However in 1939 to 1953 both rented and owned were remained constant owned was at around 32% in both the years and rented was at 65%. After that in 1961 households who has the owned accomdation accounted for 41% whereas rented ones was at around 58%.

In 1971 both the households were at 50%, meanwhile owned ones in 1981 took over the previous years and made up the share of 50% in 1981 and rented got down at 40%. From 1991 to 2001 both the years rented households were at 33 to 32% lower than the owned households accommondation and rented was made up the largest share of 68% to 69%. by contrast From the start till 2011 owned householders were incresed gradually but rented ones decresed at the same time.
