The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given graph shows the percentage of the households in owned and rented accomodation in England and Wales between the year 1918 and 2011.
The percentage of owned accomodations in the year is nearly 25%, which went on increasing consistently with the years passing till 2001,with the highest percentage being 65%. Then, there was a little drop in the owned households of aboust 5% in the year 2011.
The amount of percentage of the rented accomodations has been declining from the yaer 1918 to 2001 ,from 75% to 30% respectively. In the year 2011, there has been a rise of say 5% as compared to 2001.
The percentage of rented and owned accomodations were almost at same level in the year 1971. From the year 1918 to 1961 the percentage of rented accomodations were more in number ,whereas from thr year 1981 to 2011 the percentage of owned accomodations were more in number.
To conclude the graph, I would say that with the years passing the owned accomodations went on increasing compared to the rented ones.
