Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the two categories and report the broad shift from renting towards ownership, including the point where the figures are equal in 1971. However, several comparisons are reversed or unclear: renting was higher than ownership from 1918 to 1961, not from 1981 to 2011, and ownership rose rather than declined between 1981 and 2001 before falling in 2011. The response also lacks a clear, accurate overview of the full trend and gives almost no reliable figures to support it. The comment that this was “a bad side to our society” is an unsupported opinion rather than a summary of chart data. The response is 10 words below the required minimum; develop the key trends and comparisons to meet the task fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to order the information over time, using phrases such as “in 1918 to 1961” and “in 1981 to 2011,” and “Moreever” signals an effort to add points. However, the response is presented as one continuous paragraph, with no clear separation between an overview and supporting details. Several links are difficult to follow, especially “In the chart in 1981 to 1961 in more people stay in own house,” where the time period and comparison are confusing. Repeated use of “Moreever” and “Other side” does not create clear relationships between ideas. Group the main trend first, then compare the earlier and later periods, using accurate linking and clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “owned accommodation,” “rented,” “increased,” and “decreased,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message difficult to interpret: “hosehoides,” “renated,” “dicris,” and “peoples” are inaccurate, while “people stay” is repeated instead of using more precise descriptions of household proportions. Phrases such as “rented people” and “loss your won house” are also unclear or unnatural. Build a small set of accurate chart terms—such as “the proportion of households,” “home ownership,” and “rented accommodation”—and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts several sentence forms, including comparisons and time references, but control is inconsistent. The opening, “This chart is show,” has an incorrect verb form, and “the grey colour show” and “some people was” show subject–verb agreement problems. Articles and sentence construction are also unreliable, as in “in own house” and “rented above the owner house people stay.” The sentence beginning “In the chart in 1981 to 1961” is difficult to parse because its time phrase and clause structure are not controlled. These errors often make the intended comparison hard to understand. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses such as “while” or “whereas,” checking verb forms, agreement, and articles.
