Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals claim that we have a lot choices these days which means that they often get confused in selecting and making one choice. I myself agree with that statement that today in every aspect of life we have multiple choices for everything.

It's true that in today's world we have several choices for everything wether we talk about shopping or choosing career or deciding to renovate our house. We surely have multiple options in each one of them which confused the consumer and ends up in choosing something other than their main preferance. For instance, While choosing career students often get confused because some options offer them high paying jobs, others provide powerfull positions and some holds their actual interest. But because of the other superioir options students can't be able to choose their favorite options and ended up choosing some respected and powerfull one.

Another face of this topic is that if you go to shop something in today's markets you will face thousands of options and choices to make which has both food and bad impacts. Good one is that because of all of these options our lives have become much more comfortable and easy becuase different types of machine options allow us to use them for every chores. The bad impact is that because all of that options people ended up spend more than their budget which eventually creates further problems.

So according to my opinion yes i totally agree with that statement that we have a lot of choices nowadays. But i would also say that there is both pros an cons of this and it all depends on how we use them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that modern life offers too many choices, and the conclusion restates this view while acknowledging advantages and disadvantages. You address the question with relevant examples from career decisions and shopping, explaining how competing priorities can confuse students and how abundant products may encourage overspending. This covers the task well, but the support is uneven: the career example is more specific, while the shopping point about convenience and household machines is broad and not fully explained. To strengthen the response, develop each example with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and make the extent of your agreement more precise—for example, distinguish between useful choice and excessive choice.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different aspects of the issue, and a concluding opinion. The progression from career choices to shopping choices is easy to follow, and phrases such as “For instance” and “Another face of this topic” signal examples and a new point. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph shifts from benefits to drawbacks within one long sequence, and “Good one” and “The bad impact” are imprecise references. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing the main points together. Use clearer topic sentences and transitions, and make references explicit so the reader can follow how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss choice, including “multiple options,” “career,” “high paying jobs,” “consumer,” and “budget.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “powerful positions” and “main preference.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “wether,” “preferance,” “superioir,” “food and bad impacts,” and “for every chores.” Repetition of “choices,” “options,” and “everything” also limits flexibility. These issues do not prevent the main message from being understood, but they reduce precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations; for example, describe “positive and negative effects” rather than “food and bad impacts.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “options which confused the consumer” and a conditional structure beginning “if you go to shop.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is generally clear. However, some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “which confused the consumer and ends up” shifts tense and does not agree consistently, while “people ended up spend” needs a different verb form. In “some holds their actual interest,” the subject and verb do not agree. Review these patterns and check punctuation and capitalisation, especially after “For instance” and in the final paragraph. More accurate control of these structures would make your ideas easier to read.
