Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you say you “completely agree” that people have too many choices, and you give relevant examples involving online shopping, education and employment. However, the response only partly develops the task. The discussion of online products explains how technology expands choice, but the education and job points are mentioned briefly rather than showing how they create an excess of options. The paragraph beginning “On the other side of the spectrum” introduces people with limited choices, which could add useful qualification, but it does not explain how this contrasts with your overall position or resolve the apparent contradiction. Develop fewer points in more depth and make the relationship between unequal access and your agreement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main topic is generally easy to follow. You use linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” to signal movement between points. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven: online shopping, personal preferences, overseas study and job opportunities are grouped together without clear explanation of how each supports the central argument. The contrast paragraph also shifts to low-income families and students’ routines without a clear link back to the claim about having too many choices. Some transitions, including “On the other side of the spectrum contend,” are difficult to follow. Organise each paragraph around one main idea and use clearer links between claims and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “proliferation,” “bridged the gap,” “wide variety” and “employment choices,” and the reader can usually understand your intended meaning. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which makes some ideas harder to interpret. For example, “a recent argue has emerged” and “different doctrine” do not express the intended meaning clearly, while “job section” is an imprecise phrase. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “cosmatics,” “accoding” and “burgeining.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than choosing ambitious words whose meaning or form is uncertain. Proofreading and learning vocabulary in phrases would improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession with “Although” and a sentence beginning “while” in the conclusion. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “technology take everything” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “where a person shop online” does not use the correct verb form. The opening sentence of the second body paragraph, “On the other side of the spectrum contend about…,” is structurally incomplete, and “Students can now educate in a overseas countries” has several grammatical problems. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; check agreement, articles and verb forms during revision.
