Student answer (Band 5.5)

Living in this 21st century can actually gives us more options and opportunity comparing to before. Some individuals think that in recent days we have a lot of options .I totally agree with that because in this modern world ,everything is more accessible than before. That's why everyone have more options to choose .Because availability and demand are always remain in contrast. If anything is available then mind will prefer to choose but if the thing is not available there will be no options to choose left.

Everyone has their free will to chooss anything else. But the thing is ,to get what anyone chooses the product or the thing must be available first.

If it is not then there will be no possibility to choose. In this modern world anyone can get any kind of access from anywhere ,that's why people always tends to choose among many options. For an instance,if anyone go to the supermarket now can easily get all kinds of items neccessery for their daily life nowadays. But in past life it was quite nearly impossible to get all kinds of neccessery things under the one roof because noone have even thought about to collect all the items under it.

On top of that , Internet has make the globe smaller and easy to connect with everyone. It has generally give everyone the advantages to observe things before they buy their service or producuts.Actually they can justify it before using the products. For exampls,if anyone is intend to buy a product from an online shop,he or she will obviusly read the reviews of the products .That's how it becomes more easier to choose if they should but the product or not. They just need not to buy the product blindly.

In conclusion, technology has advanced a lot and making the life more easier and also ensure to get access of different kinds of services easily. That's why recently people do have more choices in comparison wih the backdated life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that people have more choices today, and you give relevant examples involving supermarkets and online shopping. These examples help connect your view to everyday life. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because it mainly explains how modern access creates more options, rather than examining whether people have too many choices or what consequences this may have. The point about availability and demand is difficult to follow and is not developed into a clear reason. To strengthen the response, explain what “too many” means and support your position with a more specific discussion—for example, whether abundant options make decisions harder or improve consumers’ ability to find suitable products.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The supermarket example and the online-shopping example are placed in separate paragraphs, which gives the reader some organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear. The opening discussion of “availability and demand” does not lead smoothly to the later examples, and several ideas are repeated, especially that modern life offers more access and choices. Linking phrases such as “On top of that” and “In conclusion” are used, but connections between individual claims are sometimes mechanical or unclear. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one main reason, ordering its explanation and example logically, and using clear references so the reader can see how each point supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “free will,” “accessible,” “reviews,” and “online shop,” and the examples make your meaning generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make the writing less natural. Phrases such as “backdated life,” “get access of different kinds of services,” and “justify it before using the products” do not express the intended ideas clearly. There are also repeated basic terms such as “options,” “things” and “products,” alongside misspellings including “neccessery” and “obviusly.” Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for instance, describe consumers as having “a wider range of choices” and say they can “assess a product before purchasing it.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional forms such as “If it is not then there will be no possibility to choose” and a sentence explaining how online reviews affect decisions. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “can actually gives,” “everyone have,” “Internet has make,” and “people always tends.” Some sentences also join ideas in ways that make the relationships difficult to follow, as in the opening discussion of availability and choice. Punctuation spacing and comma use are inconsistent. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms first, then build longer sentences from clearly connected clauses and check each sentence for a complete, logical structure.
