Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a relevant position—“I agree”—and begin to support it by saying that people have many choices in different fields, with fashion as an example. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain whether having many choices is beneficial, harmful, or both, and the technology example is left unfinished. The introduction also promises an explanation without giving a developed argument. The response is substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough discussion, reasoning, or relevant support to answer the question adequately. To improve, develop two clear reasons for your view, explain each one, and add specific examples before writing a conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory statement is followed by a paragraph beginning “To begin with,” and the fashion example is connected to the main point. These features give the reader a simple starting structure. However, the progression stops abruptly, and the final phrase, “varieties of,” is incomplete, leaving the second example and the paragraph’s point unfinished. The introduction’s promise that the explanation “will be explained in the following paragraphs” is not fulfilled. Use a clear sequence of developed paragraphs—one main idea per paragraph, followed by explanation and an example—and ensure each paragraph reaches a complete point. A brief conclusion would also make the overall argument feel finished.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “choices,” “field,” “fashion,” and “technology,” and the meaning of the opening is generally understandable. However, the range is narrow and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise: “so many choices” and “a lot of choices” repeat the same wording, while “different varieties” does not clearly identify what is varied. There is also a spelling error in “advaned.” The unfinished phrase “varieties of” prevents the reader from knowing which technology options you mean. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and avoid repeating the same general phrase; for example, specify product options, consumer goods, or technological devices where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response uses mostly simple sentence patterns, and the opening sentences are understandable. There is an attempt at a more complex structure in “This is due to…,” but the overall range is limited, and the final sentence is incomplete, ending with “varieties of.” The sentence “I agree with the given statement my explanation will be explained…” joins two independent clauses without suitable punctuation or a linking word. The phrase “For example in the field…” also needs punctuation after the introductory phrase. Practise combining ideas with accurate conjunctions and punctuation, and check that every sentence has a complete structure. Using a wider mix of simple and complex sentences would help express the reasons more clearly.
