Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern era, availability of numerous options and choices is a popular opinion.
As far as I am concerned, there is no doubt about it. Whether it is food or clothing, professions or employment, education or sports all come with a wide range of options to choose from. Nowadays,
grocery stores have a variety of food that was not available before. For instance, grocery stores now provide a variety of sections for frozen food, meat, vegetables, fruits, packaged food and tin food. In this way, consumers enjoy a lot of options. Similarly, clothing brands offer dresses of all types and materials. For instance, it is possible to buy clothes of every season in many outlets during the seasonal clearence sales. Women may choose to purchase skirts, gowns, long dresses or short dresses in multiple colours.
On the other hand, employers of different companies also offer a wide range of jobs to experienced or inexperienced individuals. These may include jobs in banks, grocery stores, libraries, educational institutes, hospitals, nurseries, army, police etc. So individuals are open to a great diversity of employment and career options. Furthermore, students of the present time are exposed to educational institutes offering a great variety of subjects like History, Economics, Languages,Humanities, Literature, Mathematics, Physics and much more. Sports options for current players are also great like basketball, football, tennis,Badminton etc.
While a bundle of choices has created satisfaction among the people, it has also lead them to perplexity and unnecessary confusion. They find themselves in a dilemma while choosing their desirable products and waste their time. The tasks that were not very time consuming in the past, when there were limited options have now become considerably troublesome and hectic.
Hence, it is evident that having too many choices is not always beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that people now have many choices, and you acknowledge both their benefits and drawbacks. The examples about food, clothing, employment, education and sport are relevant and address the topic. However, several examples are presented mainly as lists—for instance, the subjects students can study and the types of jobs available—rather than being explained to show how choice has increased or why it matters. The point that choice causes “perplexity and unnecessary confusion” is relevant, but it would be stronger with a specific example or explanation of its effects. Develop fewer examples in greater depth and make the extent of your agreement explicit in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, examples of choice, a paragraph on its disadvantages, and a concluding statement. Transitions such as “Similarly,” “Furthermore,” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the second body paragraph groups employment, education and sport together, so the progression feels list-like rather than carefully developed. The contrast introduced by “On the other hand” is also not quite accurate, since the paragraph continues describing more choices rather than presenting an opposing view. Some links between examples and the main argument are left implicit. Organise the examples into clearer thematic paragraphs and use transitions that precisely reflect the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “wide range,” “diversity,” “employment,” “career options,” and “dilemma.” These choices make the subject clear, and the meaning is generally easy to follow. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but some are inaccurate or unnatural: “a popular opinion” does not clearly express the availability of choices, and “a bundle of choices” is an awkward collocation. Spelling errors such as “clearence” and “Badminton” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating “variety,” “options,” and “choices” by using suitable alternatives such as “selection” or “alternatives.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including the conditional structure “While a bundle of choices has created satisfaction … it has also lead them …” and the relative clause “jobs … that were not available before.” Most sentences communicate their meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “it has also lead” should use the past participle “led,” and “the tasks … when there were limited options have now become” has an awkwardly arranged clause that makes the relationship less clear. There are also punctuation and spacing issues around lists, such as “skirts, gowns” and “tennis,Badminton.” Practise checking verb forms and restructuring long sentences so that each clause has a clear connection to the main point.
