Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the impact of having many choices, specifically focusing on product quality and economic benefits. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you state you agree with the statement, the argument lacks depth; for instance, the connection between consumer choice and national GDP is a bit tenuous and not fully explored. The conclusion introduces a new point about 'confusion' which was not previously discussed, making the argument feel slightly disjointed. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly reinforces your initial position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. Phrases like 'To commence with' and 'In addition with' are used, but the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by run-on sentences and a lack of appropriate punctuation. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the idea of product quality and the government tax example is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence is clearly separated by punctuation would significantly improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use words like 'things', 'products', and 'choices' without much variation. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'rising number of population' (should be 'growing population') and 'sale their products' (should be 'sell their products'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to consumerism and economics, and pay closer attention to word forms and standard collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('the quality of product is also rise'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is a major area for improvement; the lack of full stops makes the text difficult to read, as many ideas are strung together in long, run-on sentences. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. Focusing on sentence boundaries and basic grammatical accuracy will help clarify your meaning.
