Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this modernisation era, the options have increased in careers, jobs, and other things also. Moreover, in most countries, it is the right of the people to choose and have freedom of speech and other rights as well. I completely agree with the statement that nowadays we have more choices compared to past times. In this contemporary era, democracy and the constitution give rights to the people to the people whatever they want to choose. public can choose their leader, such as the Prime Minister, the President and other authority of ministry. For example, in India, elections are held to choose the leader who represents the country, and people have the option to choose their leader. However, when kingdoms were ruled by a king, ordinary people didn't have any authority to choose the king. Moreover, in recent times, in the jobs and education sectors, there are not many opportunities for the public, but at present there are enormous job chances and have pethoral options in studies. A survey conducted by a prestigious newspaper, THE HINDUSTAN TIMES, reports that now people have more choices for their future than in recent times. On the contrary, some people opine that there are more opportunities before rather than now. Furthermore, people can do anything they want . Nevertheless, now people have boundaries on their wishes. Different people have different notions regarding the statement, but I have sound reasons to advocate that the public has better opportunities now compared to in previous times owing to the rules which are favourable for the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that we have more choices today. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide an example regarding political elections, the discussion on job and education sectors is quite brief and lacks depth. The argument that there are 'not many opportunities' in recent times is contradictory and confusing. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported point. You should also aim to expand on your examples to demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic, rather than listing general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into a single large block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. A standard IELTS essay should have clear paragraphing: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'However', and 'Nevertheless', their usage is sometimes mechanical or slightly misused, such as the transition into the counter-argument. The progression of ideas is occasionally interrupted by repetitive phrasing and unclear logical links between the political example and the job market discussion. Improving your paragraph structure will significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'modernisation', 'contemporary', and 'constitution'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'pethoral' (likely a misspelling of 'plethora') and 'enormous job chances'. Some phrasing is repetitive, particularly the use of 'choose' and 'choice' throughout the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of synonyms and ensuring that less common vocabulary is used accurately and in the correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the people to the people whatever they want to choose' and 'other authority of ministry', which hinder clarity. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence boundaries and awkward phrasing that make some parts of the text difficult to parse. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and refining your sentence structure.
