Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the essay stops abruptly after only 87 words. Because the response is incomplete and fails to provide the necessary supporting arguments or examples required for an academic essay, it does not address the task fully. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and provide at least two well-developed body paragraphs that explore your reasons with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its brevity. While you use a transition word ('Firstly') to begin a point, the paragraph is cut off before the idea can be developed or linked to a conclusion. There is no logical progression of ideas because the text is incomplete. To improve, focus on using a clear paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with topic sentences and supporting evidence, and a conclusion. Ensure that each paragraph flows logically into the next using appropriate cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'every type of tasks' and 'large number of choices' are functional but lack the sophistication expected at higher bands. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the statement is highly favored' and 'three are certainly too much choices'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you are using collocations correctly. Focus on expanding your range of synonyms to avoid repeating simple words like 'people' and 'choices'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The text contains several grammatical errors that hinder clarity. For example, 'there become more options are available' is syntactically incorrect, and 'three are certainly too much choices' contains a spelling error ('three' instead of 'there') and a quantifier error ('much' instead of 'many'). The sentence structure is limited, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of quantifiers. Practice writing complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
