Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some people believes that nowadays we have too many choices. If we look around i agree with this statement at most extent.

In recent decades specially if we see last 20 to 30 years, technology have became too advance whether if we look into transportation , digital products, medical etc all of them have became too much advanced. If we look into transportation there are too many means of transportation whether we decide to travel from bus , car ,motorcycle and even planes if the passage is too long and that reduce the traveling time as well, same goes for the medicine if a person don't want to have and operation he can have a medical treatment in many cases which don't requires the opening of body through different instruments.

The widespread of digital product have enabled us to not only do some chores without event moving like the delivery of food or other things which a person can travel but have choice of just delivered that to home nowadays. With the help of these mobile phones and personal laptops we can also have classes and hoe and even do office work remotely which was not the case for most of people before us if we see into same decades back.Nowadays a student can pick courses of different choices in educational institutes which is actually a really good thing if someone want to proceed in their own interested field.

In my view these to many choices with the help of technological advancement and others is somewhat true nowadays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide examples such as transportation and digital products, the discussion lacks depth regarding the implications of having 'too many' choices—such as the psychological impact or decision fatigue. The response tends to list examples rather than fully exploring the 'extent' of the agreement. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a specific argument that directly supports your position, providing a more analytical perspective rather than just descriptive examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. You rely heavily on 'If we look into' and 'Nowadays' to start sentences, which makes the progression feel mechanical. While the central idea of each paragraph is generally clear, the transition between the introduction, body, and conclusion could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'on the other hand') would help connect your ideas more effectively and improve the overall readability of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band score. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'at most extent' (should be 'to a great extent') and 'the widespread of digital product' (should be 'the proliferation of digital products'). You use basic vocabulary to describe complex concepts, which limits your ability to express nuanced arguments. Focusing on learning collocations and more academic synonyms for common words will significantly enhance your lexical range and help you convey your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Some people believes', 'technology have became'), incorrect verb forms ('don't requires'), and punctuation errors (missing spaces after periods). While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence construction is accurate before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for common slips, such as missing articles or incorrect tense usage, will also help increase your score.
