Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the availability of choices in modern life, particularly in employment and education. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that choices can be confusing, you do not fully explore the 'too many' aspect of the prompt—whether this abundance is actually a negative or overwhelming phenomenon. The position is generally clear, but the argument lacks depth and specific examples to support the 'too many' perspective. To improve, ensure you directly address the 'to what extent' aspect by weighing the pros and cons more thoroughly and providing more detailed, illustrative examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition between the first and second paragraphs feels abrupt. While you use some linking words like 'Moreover' and 'For instance', the flow between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical connection between the idea of 'too many choices' and the 'willingness to make efforts' is not fully bridged, which affects the overall coherence of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'remote jobs', 'tech experts', and 'enrolled'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'get confuse' (should be 'get confused') and 'make the hard yards' (which is an idiom that doesn't quite fit the formal context of an academic essay). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher band scores. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring that your word forms are grammatically correct.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('every student have' should be 'every student has') and incorrect preposition usage ('need of travelling' should be 'need to travel'). While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of infinitives and gerunds. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
