Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that we have too many choices today. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention education, vocational fields, and fashion, the arguments lack depth and specific analysis of the 'too many' aspect—specifically, whether this abundance is overwhelming or positive. The examples provided, such as studying in China, are relevant but could be better integrated to support the central argument. To improve, focus on expanding your reasoning to explain the implications of these choices rather than just listing areas where choices exist.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In addition to all this' and 'In conclusion to conclude that'. The transition between ideas is functional but lacks the sophisticated flow expected at higher bands. Additionally, some sentences are repetitive in their structure. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the logical progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vocational', 'preferences', and 'unique'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'clearify' (clarify), 'apssion' (passion), 'previlege' (privilege), and 'fiedls' (fields). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations, such as 'a wide array of choices' instead of 'a large extent of choices'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'as they gets a chance') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods throughout the text. While the meaning remains clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation limit the score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct sentence boundaries will significantly improve your accuracy.
