Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's modern world, a lot of changes have been taking place, individuals are often to like ample of options around them, a group of people claim that no of choices has been increased nowadays, to a large extent I agree with their viewpoint. reasons behind it and examples both will be discussed further in the ensuing paragraphs.
Focusing on the reasons, the most significant reason is, opening of too many supermarkets and shopping malls, in the recent years people are focusing more to get all things under one roof, and for a single product they are getting many numbers of brands their choices has expanded having more option to select. For instance, if they want to buy a single toothpaste, they will get so many options with different properties, brands and flavors.
Another reason is, increasing urbanization and commercial products factories, as population is increasing day by day their demands are also increasing and to full fill it so many new companies have been opened and launching their products in market. Additionally, in the education field also children have advantage to choose the subject according to their interest.
On the other hand, some people argue that options are not enough there should be a greater number of choices, specially while choosing the job, in companies the departments are limited there should be more departments, therefore it's become easy for them to choose their field according to their interest.
In conclusion, although some people believe that nowadays we are not having too many choices, I believe we are having in each and every sector in education, in jobs and also in companies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of supermarkets and educational choices. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding job departments in the fourth paragraph is slightly underdeveloped and could have been expanded with more specific reasoning or examples to fully support the claim. While the response covers all parts of the task, the depth of analysis is consistent with a band 6 level, as some points are presented rather than fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'Focusing on the reasons' and 'Another reason is' are used to transition, but the internal flow within sentences is sometimes disrupted by awkward phrasing and punctuation errors. Referencing is generally clear, but the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the progression of ideas feel somewhat disjointed at times. Improving the variety of cohesive devices would help the flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'no of choices' instead of 'number of choices' and 'full fill' instead of 'fulfill'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic language prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on collocations and more academic terminology would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include run-on sentences and comma splices, such as 'In today's modern world, a lot of changes have been taking place, individuals are often to like ample of options around them'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are also inconsistent. While the errors do not completely obscure the meaning, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and suggest a need for more careful proofreading and practice with complex sentence construction.
