Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention career and location choices, the arguments lack depth and specific, real-world examples. The essay ends abruptly, which prevents a full conclusion and leaves the final argument incomplete. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a clear, well-supported point that directly relates to the 'too many choices' debate. The current structure feels a bit repetitive, focusing more on the existence of choices rather than evaluating whether having 'too many' is a positive or negative phenomenon.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is sometimes mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'To conclude', but the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the overall coherence of the piece. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'multiple choices' and 'variety of options'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'universe had blessed people' and 'coming to living options'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'autonomy', 'decision fatigue', or 'abundance of alternatives', and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'in there life' (their), 'a individual' (an), and 'what they where learning' (were). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'individual have wide number of choices'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article placement to improve your accuracy.
