Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the benefits of choices in professional life and for people with disabilities, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the mention of 'unusual and fascinating professions' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete illustrations and ensure that the link between having 'too many choices' and the resulting impact is more explicitly analysed. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'To illustrate'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as in the final paragraph where the sentences are fragmented. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother to improve the overall readability of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'globalized', 'specialized', and 'inclusive policies'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes that occasionally impede communication, such as 'att alternative' instead of 'alternatives', 'jub' instead of 'job', 'mange' instead of 'range', and 'chokes' instead of 'choices'. These errors suggest a lack of precision. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch these slips and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations to express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'It is a widely believed that people has a always a second option', 'there are a number of... those days', and 'These makes different choices'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence fragments are corrected into complete, grammatically sound structures.
