Student answer (Band 5.0)
Eventually this statement is correct that nowadays people have too many choices in various aspects of life, such as; Education, carrier and consumer products because people in early decades don't have many options, usually young kids run their heritage businesses which could be farming or anything, another truth is that they don't have the rights to choose their own carrier, although they were not ambitious, they usually do what their parents ask them to do. In modern era people have many technologies, they have a lot more sports to play, they have modern medical facilities, newer machinery, much more educated and ambitious doctors. Students now have Al to perform may tasks; They can make videos edit them and much more.
One of my experiences is, my favorite player is Messi I am a football lover, so I decided to choose this field, I personally learned a lot from him, my parents are very supporting they never implement their decisions on me, they always gave that choice to me to choose whatever I want to be, just because of that I am an international player of football.
The point is every parent must have to give their children choices to do whatever they want to this gives them confidence to live, of face the world. Nowadays people have many options of food, they have restaurants, playing area and man more

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the increase in choices in modern life, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you present a clear position, the arguments are somewhat superficial and lack the depth required for a higher band. The personal example about being a football player is relevant but takes up a large portion of the essay, leaving less room for a balanced discussion on the potential downsides of having 'too many choices,' such as decision fatigue or anxiety. To improve, ensure you fully explore both sides of the argument and meet the length requirement to allow for sufficient idea development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow between them is weak. The transition between the historical comparison in the first paragraph and the personal anecdote in the second is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as the misuse of semicolons and commas (e.g., 'such as; Education, carrier'). The final paragraph is very brief and lacks a clear concluding thought that synthesizes the arguments presented. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' 'on the other hand') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are several spelling errors, such as 'carrier' instead of 'career' and 'man more' instead of 'many more.' You rely on repetitive phrasing and simple adjectives. To achieve a higher band, you should incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to the theme of choice, such as 'autonomy,' 'decision-making processes,' 'overwhelming,' or 'societal expectations.' Additionally, focus on improving your spelling and ensuring that words are used in the correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people in early decades don't have'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'they don't have the rights'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often fragmented or run-on, which makes the writing feel less professional. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses, and practicing the correct use of punctuation, particularly commas and semicolons. Proofreading for common errors like 'don't' vs 'didn't' will also help.
