Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that having many choices is a positive transformation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention online shopping and mental health, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the claim that 'online shopping releases happy hormones' is an interesting point but is not well-integrated into a logical argument about the impact of choice. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported reason rather than repeating the benefits of online shopping. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the main points presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'And increasing mental health with different choices' is a sentence fragment that lacks a clear connection to the previous thought. Transitions such as 'First' and 'Secondly' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and grammatical errors. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence flows logically from the last will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'items', and 'great', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'online shopping given a great please' (likely meant 'pleasure' or 'convenience') and 'verity of details' (meant 'variety'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more precise terminology related to consumer behavior and decision-making.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'online shopping given'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'if someone has to buy clothes then go to market'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty, which reduces the overall clarity of your message. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage before attempting more complex structures.
