Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the abundance of choices and the resulting pressure, but the development is inconsistent. While you present a position, the link between 'too many choices' and the 'shortage of jobs' is not clearly articulated, making the argument feel slightly tangential. You mention that people are confused, but you do not fully explore the psychological impact of having too many options, which is the core of the prompt. To improve, ensure that every point directly supports your stance on whether having many choices is beneficial or detrimental, rather than shifting the focus to general unemployment issues.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'These all things taught by individuals' is confusing and does not effectively link to the previous sentence. There are also issues with referencing; the pronoun 'they' is frequently used without a clear antecedent, making it difficult to track who or what is being discussed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'good courses' and 'many options,' which are repetitive. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'these all things taught by individuals' and 'take a wrong step.' To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise vocabulary to express complex ideas, and ensure that your word forms are accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'their have many options'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'people confused they what to do in their life.' While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofread carefully to correct common errors in tense and pluralisation.
