Student answer (Band 5.0)

Simple things were hacked up with many choices. I contend my view with some people believe that now-a-days we have too many choices. Many choices may lead to confusion.

I agree some people have too many choices in day-to-day life. As trend changes their choices also changes which leads to confusion also phenomenal rose in budget. For example: cloth shopping in online and in offline stores. In online shopping they give rose margin people get attracted for margin not for clothing and in offline shopping like black sale or year end sale up to 70% discount are given people get attracted for discounts. In such a way people get confused with their shopping weather it is needed or not but they tend to shop according to discounts. Instead its better to shop according to their needs to lead non-stressful life.

On the other hand, people are not particular about their health like sedentary lifestyle. As their is saying "Health is wealth" having junk is very common problem in every ones life. Its better to have a proper diet and follow good eating habits. Taking many opinions may confuse. If a people are having certain problems gastric issues, headache its better to have a checkup without any ones opinion. Leading a stressful life may effect complex problems like Heart failure.

I conclude that better to avoid confusion and lead a aesthetic life. I argue "health is wealth" opinions consideration should be minimal for current generation it may lead to complex issues. Better to take one choice without any confusion for health, shopping and education.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you agree that there are too many choices, the transition to the second body paragraph regarding health and sedentary lifestyles is abrupt and lacks a clear connection to the topic of 'too many choices.' The argument about shopping is relevant, but the health section feels tangential. To improve, ensure every paragraph directly supports your central thesis. The conclusion is present but lacks a strong summary of the main points, and the overall position could be more clearly articulated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is weak. The transition between the shopping example and the health discussion is jarring, as the link to 'too many choices' is not explicitly stated. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'For example,' but they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'choices,' 'confusion,' and 'shopping.' There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choice, such as 'hacked up with many choices' and 'phenomenal rose in budget.' Additionally, 'weather' is used instead of 'whether,' and 'aesthetic life' is used incorrectly in this context. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and more precise academic terminology, while ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'trend changes their choices also changes'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'As their is saying "Health is wealth" having junk is very common problem in every ones life.' While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
