Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt by expressing a clear agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide examples, such as the sister's job search and the medicine anecdote, the link between these examples and the core argument—that having 'too many' choices is a negative or overwhelming phenomenon—is not fully explored. The essay focuses more on the existence of choices rather than the implications of having an excess of them. To improve, ensure that your arguments directly address the 'too many' aspect, perhaps by discussing decision fatigue or the difficulty of selection.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Thus, this will be discussed in this essay' or 'Additionally, it implies in jobs also.' Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the sister's job search and the broader topic of 'too many choices' is not explicitly linked through cohesive language. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'perference' (preference), 'reparing' (repairing), and 'geniune' (genuine). The use of 'things' is quite repetitive and vague. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'software engineer' and 'paracetamol,' the overall lexical control is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring correct spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'There are variety of options are available,' 'there are some products are also available,' and 'I was cure after that day.' The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that each sentence has one clear subject and verb, and proofread carefully to eliminate basic errors in tense and pluralisation.
